Hi, I’m Denise Brown president of the Twin City Adult Riding Club in Hawkes Bay. I have been a club member for over 10 years and have been on the committee in various roles over the past 5 years.
I grew up on a farm west of lake Taupo (Tihoi) and managed to coerce my parents into getting me a horse from the age of 5. I was pretty much self taught (hold on for dear life), generally just riding with friends and going to local hunts (had to ride to them) until going to the local western riding club at age 14.
I became interested in dressage and improving my riding in my early 20’s and am still a “work in progress” trying to correct all the bad habits developed over the years. 
I am a Chiropractor and work 4 days a week in Napier. I live on a 5 acre lifestyle block just south of Hastings with my husband Pat,
cat Ralph, dog Minkz, 
Pat’s horse Milo, my 12yo TB/Percheron gelding and 15 month old stationbred (bred from a leased mare).
I’m looking forward to helping on the NZRC committee for the 2016/17 year.
