Hello, my name is Sonya Williams. 
I am the current President of the New Plymouth and Districts Riding Club. I like to compete in low level shows and love the welcoming and encouraging nature Riding clubs provide with NITE being my ultimate favourite. I currently have more horses then needed but one of those is my childhood pony that my brother gave to me when I was 7.
I didnt do the pony club thing and am pretty much self taught only taking up lessons etc in the last 7 or so years I’m very lucky to have found an instructor that is very patient. This will be my second year on the NZRC committee and look forward to working with the hard-working National body.
Outside of my horsey lifestyle I am mum to two amazing boys Brody 16 who has Cerebral Palsy and Troy 10. Brody just completed his first year as a sailability race sailor with an amazing bunch of people. Troy is currently in his year of basketball and although he doesn’t love it, he is giving it his best.
