I am from Hastings, Hawkes Bay and the secretary of Twin City Riding Club.
I rode as a child competing, Pony Club and hunting then gave up when 17 years old.
I took up riding again 20 odd years later after buying our daughter a pony she wasn’t
interested in so I took over riding the pony. I then traded the pony for the gorgeous
Chiquito. He was the best ARC Mount.
As an adult I evented, competed in Open Showing and Dressage then decided to
slow down and now just compete in Adult Riding (NITE), the odd Show now
Pleasure (I do judge these as well) I am also a qualified D Cert instructor for Pony
Club.
I still enjoy my dressage lessons and love hacking out with friends either trail rides or
farm rides.
I now have my horse numbers down to two. My lovely Saxon

who has competed in NITE sadly sustained a serious tendon injury around the time of Cyclone Gabrielle.
So, with Saxon out I bought Jordy a lovely Station Bred who came Western trained
and is a delight to have around.

My partner Mark and I live on 10 acres and being an avid animal lover we have too
many dogs and cat’s ha ha. Our two children Alysse and Connor left home when
they attended Uni but growing up on our land was a great start for them.
I was a sales rep for many years but am now a merchandiser for Lion Breweries
which being very physical helps keep me fit for riding.
I hope to keep riding for many years yet and I can’t imagine being without my equine
buddies. I am refraining adding to the numbers though.
