RESULTS
Eleven teams from Nelson, Greymouth, North Otago, South Canterbury and of course Canterbury competed at this years event. The first time since 2018 according to the cup that was presented to the winning team.
The event was won by a beautifully named Enter at X, Halt Salute Menopause team from Canterbury. Close on heels were Mane Event WRC, the host team. Aoraki Western Riding Club followed.
Given some difficulties with the weather prior to the event the weather and spirit were amazing. The Nelson team arrived after a very slow 10 hour trip with slow Labour weekend traffic. Other teams encountered similar issues but arrived with smiles and ‘give it a go’.
A common phrase became met as strangers left as friends! Another one was ‘how good was my pony’. Did everything and more.
We were particularly pleased to have our South Island Patron, Jennifer Howard, present to award the teams prizes. Thank you Jennifer.
