The New Plymouth & Districts Riding Club started officially in 1985 with a uniform of Royal Blue with Beige Jodphurs.
The original minute books have disappeared so we have no background history before 1998.
Our Patron was Lyn Prentice for many years, she is a life member of the club along with John Moore. Chris Hobin took over the Patron role in 2015.
Our uniform changed to Royal Blue with Black Jodphurs in 2002 when we started going to NITE. We changed it to our current colours in 2008 to Black shirts with Amber Trim & Black Jodphurs to better match the Taranaki area.
We have had some success at NITE over the years and for those that take up the challenge of entering a team have been hooked.
The Logo was designed by member and artist, Karla Vink. 
Grounds: we have council leased grounds at Cracroft Street, Waitara. The grounds are available for use to any members, we have a few cross country fences and enough show jumping fences to build a great course.
Our Annual Events include: Taranaki Masters Games, Dressage, Handy Horse, and more recently Pole Fitness. Rallies often involve lessons or treks and just having a play ride at our grounds, pulling out all the equipment.
Our current President is Sonya Williams. (I can see her in the role for many years taking the club forward).
